Arthur Mapes Brown Arthur Mapes Brown died peacefully in his sleep in Austin, TX on July 24, 2013, at the age of 87. Born in Corpus Christi and raised in San Antonio, TX, Art attended Central Catholic High School. After graduation, he served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Loretta, in 1950, and went on to have seven children. Art was a successful realtor for over 50 years, starting with NPC and ending his career with JB Goodwin. He was a devout Catholic, and loved singing in the church choir and serving in the Knights of Columbus. Art was also an avid card-player, sharp dresser, and enthusiastic sports fan. Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta Eyhorn Brown, and his children: Terry Bruegging and husband Mike, Earl Brown, Paul Brown, Robin Evans and husband Jim, Donna Miller and husband Rodger, Julie Beach and husband Paul, Marcy Bethke and husband David. He also leaves behind his three brothers, three sisters, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A visitation was held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks in Pflugerville, the Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pflugerville. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Catholic High School, 1403 N.
