Rudolph Zapata Obituary

Rudolph (Rudy, Sub) Zapata June 2, 1934-May 27, 2013 Rudolph (Rudy, Sub) Zapata 78 of Austin passed away on May 27, 2013. Rudy was born in Taylor Texas on June 2, 1934. He was the son of Frank and Christina Zapata. Rudy leaves behind his loving wife Lydia, children Rita (Mario) Mokarzel, Rudy, Jr. (Rosario) Zapata, Randy (debi) Zapata, Roxanne (Luis) Gonzales, Rene Zapata, Robert Zapata, Roman (Amanda) Zapata, Erick (Gracie) Zapata, sister's Maria Coy and Emma Gonzales, brother Robert Zapata. Rudy had 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Rudy was recently retired from Austin-Travis County Integral care after 44 years of employment. He was also employed at Pan Am Recreational Center. He had a passion for helping the youth of East Austin and received the Sertoma Service to mankind award and was recognized for his personal contribution to youth programs in central Texas Rosary services is scheduled for Wednesday May 29, 2013 7:00pm at Mission Funeral Home on Cesar Chavez. Funeral mass will be held at Dolores Catholic Church Thursday May 30, 2013 at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family of Mr. Zapata would like to extend a very warm thank you to Hospice Austin Christopher House for the love and care they gave their father. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mission Funeral Home. (512) 476-4355.
