Alfred WALKER Jr. Obituary
WALKER Jr., Alfred Casmon "Bull" Alfred Casmon "Bull" Walker, Jr. passed away on Good Friday, March 30, 2018. He was a native Austinite, born on January 31, 1947. He graduated from L. C. Anderson High School in 1965 and attended the University of Texas, studying art. He worked at Big Daddy Pizza and The Flagon and Trencher as manager from 1965 to 1974 and for years was known as "Big Daddy." He was then employed by Leutwyler Jewelers where he became a member of the American Gem Society (AGS) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He later became the kitchen manager at The Hole in the Wall on Guadalupe. Alfred's passion was in the practice of Kendo where he achieved the rank of Fourth Dan. He was a senior instructor for many years at the University of Texas Kendo Association and he was known as Sensei Alfred Walker from Austin throughout kendo dojos in New York, Los Angeles, and Japan. He was well respected and admired by the international Kendo community. Alfred was pre-deceased by his mother, Mary Louise Evans, his father, Alfred Casmon Walker, Sr., brothers Gene Walker, Caswell Walker, and Walter Lee Walker. He is survived by his sister Mary Cooper, his niece Arenda Baker, and his nephew Bobby Baker, two grand nephews and a host of other relatives. A memorial service will be held at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 AM.
