Celestino Chapa Jr.
Celestino Chapa, Jr., 69 of Austin, Texas passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2021. He was deeply devoted to his religion, and we can take solace knowing he is now with our Heavenly Father.
Born and raised in Austin, Chapa was best known for his quick wit, charm, and generosity. His passions included religion, family, music, and football. He was also a devout UT Longhorn and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Chapa was preceded in death by his parents, Lupe & Celestino Chapa, Sr., nephew John Albert, and his beloved dog and loyal companion, Lilly. He is survived by his daughters, Tina Michelle Chapa & Virginia Chapa; granddaughter, Rena Schroer & husband, Richard "Sparky," III.: siblings, Bennie Saldana & husband, Buddy, Felix Chapa & wife, Esther, and David Chapa & wife, Connie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Tue., Feb. 23, 2021. Visitation: 9-10:30am with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 10:30am, Mission Funeral Home (South), 6204 S. First St. in Austin. Following Rosary, Funeral Mass: 12:00pm at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main St. in Buda. Interment at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, will take place following Mass.
