Clarence CAMPBELL Obituary
CAMPBELL, Clarence Sidney Clarence Sidney Campbell of Austin, Texas, age 82, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, June 11, 2018 from complications of lung cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Annie Lee (Gage) Campbell son Tracy Campbell. He was born on May 7, 1936 to Wesley and Lizzie (Meyers) Campbell, who precedes him in death. Before retiring in 2004 Clarence worked many jobs including The City of Austin for 43 years and Sears Auto Center for 15 years. Since retiring he enjoyed the fruits of retirement including woodcarving and relaxing in his chair watching all the reruns of Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball and especially his son playing old man baseball and cheering on his teammates. Clarence was very faithful to Christ in his duties as Deacon of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by brothers Earnest of Taylor, Texas, Tommy from Missouri, James from California, W. Lee from Idaho, and sister Rosalie from Missouri. He is survived by brother Charles Campbell of Taylor, Texas, brother-in-law Preston (Kathy) Gage of Rockport, Texas, nephews Kenny (Julie) Gage and family of Portland, Texas, Ronnie Campbell and wife from Robstown, Texas, David Campbell, & Darrell Shopbell. Nieces Cheryl & Debbie. We would like to thank special friends Bob & Betty Hammond, Kelly & Dan Santema, Janet & Bruce Newman and Care giver Ruta Gebrehiwet & the wonderful help provided by Encompass Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday, June 14th from 6 to 8 pm at Weed Corley Fish on North Lamar, 3125 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78705. Church services will be Friday, June 15th at noon at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, 12062 N. Lamar Blvd. Live service available https://www.walnutcreekbc.org/. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm in Taylor, Texas (Taylor City Cemetery) 1101 E 4th, Taylor, Texas 76574.
