KOPPELMAN, Elinor Ruth Wilde Elinor Ruth Wilde Koppelman, age 89, passed away on May 16, 2018 in Austin, Texas. Elinor was born in Austin on October 26, 1928 to Paul Albert Wilde and Hermine Becker Wilde. Elinor's father Paul was co-manager of Becker Lumber Company, a local business started by Hermine's father, Hermann Becker, an immigrant from Germany. Elinor grew up in a loving family along with five sisters, and the close relationship among the sisters lasted throughout their lifetimes. Elinor graduated from Austin High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin, although she left college before graduating to work at the Internal Revenue Service. She was a life-long member of St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church, and it was there that she met her future husband, William (Bill) Peter Koppelman. They were wed on May 10, 1958 and were married 54 years until Bill's death in 2012. A mother and homemaker, Elinor also was active in Stephen Ministries, as a volunteer at St. David's Hospital, and as Secretary for the German-Texan Heritage Society. Elinor is survived by her sister Anita Wilde Austin, her daughter Lisa Koppelman Statham, her son Stephen William Koppelman, and her grandson Robert William Statham, all of Austin; her daughter Carol Beth Koppelman and son-in-law Brian Ledford, of Seattle, Wash.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. On Sunday, May 20, 2018, there will be a visitation with the family at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Services will be held at 10:00 pm, Monday, May 21, 2018 in the chapel at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, 606 W. 15th St in Austin, with graveside service to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
