Frieda Annie Neff

Obituary Condolences

Frieda Annie Neff Frieda Annie Neff, age 89, passed away quietly on September 5, 2009. She was born on February 8, 1920, Hamilton County, Texas, to Anna Marie and Gustav August Peters. Hamilton County was a German farming community where Frieda was raised on a farm and spoke German until she started school. Frieda was a devoted Christian all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shive, Texas, where she grew up and was confirmed. After moving to Austin she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and then for many years was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin. She will be remembered for her love of faith and love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She first worked for Scarborough's Department Store in Austin. At the age of 79, Frieda retired after 43 years of service at The University of Texas in Austin as a Professor's Assistant in the Human Ecology Department. She was interviewed for a UT Newsletter at the time of her retirement and her philosophy was stated as: "I always came early, and did my job. I still do. And I loved those students." Several years after retirement, Frieda moved into Heatherwilde Assisted Living in Pflugerville where she adopted her new family. We graciously appreciate the care and love given to her by the staff at Heatherwilde. Frieda leaves behind her children, daughters, Donna J.
