To Bunny my dear friend,
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear brother. Although I didn't know him, your kind words at his passing showed him to be a wonderful, caring person whom I'm sure cared a great deal for you and your family. You and they are in my thoughts.

It's when you hear about something like this that your thoughts go into high gear and your recollections of times spent together during the formidable years come pouring back. I remember our days in high school and after that lake austin and SWT and beyond. Boy did we have the time of our lives together. Larry taught me how to ski "real good", and turned me on to the secrets of the "maharajah" - or maha as he called it. He taught me his trade secrets of how to drive a barrel-hulled houseboat and to navigate it down bull creek - without ANYONE on board. Boy did he ever love being around the water.
He was always up to something unique and colorful. He was always setting “records”. Why even to this very day, there has never ever been a fire as huge as the one Larry started with me and my family while on a camping trip at paleface park. I can picture it now and I LOL every time I think about the enormous fireball and how fast I had to drive my camper to safety. I think the 70 foot tall oak tree survived and is still standing today.
He was always helping me out, whether it was moving across the state or working on cars or our boats together. What a generous person he was with his time and cheer. I can not remember a single time when he was not high-on-life or unselfishly doing something for someone else anytime, day or night.
I will miss Larry tremendously.

I am very sorry to hear about larry. I have thought of him often over the years and reflect back on times at city park and lake austin, when we used to camp. As a child , he was someone who always made me laugh and my memories of him are great ones. I have asked my dad ( bobby wilder) over the years how he was doing. Although i have not seen him in many many years, i have thought of him often. I am sure that heaven is even brighter than it was , now that larry is with god.

It has been over 15 years since my husband Chuck and I had seen Larry but the moment I heard his name mentioned to me, oh did the memories come back to me. He could make you smile in an instant. He was always there for you and yes "Mr. Fixit" was his middle name. A group of us shared so many good times together. I can remember the margaritas, the Moody Blues and dancing like maniacs.
Larry surely is brightening heaven today. I hope each of his surviving family members gain comfort knowing how he touched many other lives also.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Hamblin

Please accept my most sincere condolences to each family member for your loss. I feel a particular loss in the passing of Larry. Larry was a dear friend for many years from the 1970's on. Larry was introduced to me by my husband at the time (Bobby Wilder). Larry was a dear friend of Bobby's thru the years. We all enjoyed many fun times on the lakes of Austin and BBQ's and parties. Larry was always there with a helping hand and a lively, positive spirit. He was so generous and always there for support for our children and family and nieces and nephews. I have thought of Larry many, many times thru the years and have always had a brightened moment each time he crossed my mind. Larry was loved by many friends. I, for one, will miss his beautiful smile, upbeat and happy persona. His generosity as a friend of many years will always be in my heart. My love and support goes to each and every family member. Our special memories we have shared with Larry always will remain in our hearts.
Heaven will be a brighter place with Larry in peace with God's Angels.
