Hugh joined the Los Angeles Police Department where he rose to the level of Sergeant and had many interesting experiences which he recounted in his book, "Reflections in a Pig's Eye", that includes many witty poems poking fun at colleagues and command which sometimes proved troublesome for him. Hugh's police experience was also shared with Hollywood as a consultant for episodes of the 1960's "Dragnet" television series. After the LAPD, he carried on in investigative work for the State of California as well as being a private investigator.
Hugh is survived by his brother, Conrad Binyon; daughter, Bambi Weinberg-Tuttle and her husband Tommy and their children, Jennifer and Justin; son, Bryan Binyon and his wife Trina and their children, Taylor and Audrey; step daughter, Dawn Burke and her daughters, Danielle and Elizabeth; and step son, Samuel Hone and his family. Dewey was an incredible man who lived a very interesting life. My deepest condolences to the whole family. This loss is painful, but remember the good times, the fun times, when he made you smile and had your back. Soon death will no longer exist on this earth. I can't wait!
