Jonathan S. Turner Obituary
TURNER, Jonathan Scott Jonathan Scott Turner passed away in his home at the age of 31, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His loving dogs April and May were with him making sure he was not alone. His dogs were his world. We were blessed by his arrival on June 10, 1986 and heartbroken by his departure on June 5, 2018. Jonathan Scott Turner, son of Linda and Mark Turner, was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He had one brother, Christopher Cody Turner. Jon and Chris weren't just brothers they were best friends. Jonathan was a happy baby. He had a calm demeanor and loving spirit. Jonathan went to Brykerwoods Elementary, Martin Jr. High and graduated from Austin High School in 2004. As a young boy, Jonathan was a cub scout, played the drums, soccer and Frisbee golf. He had a very close bond with his cousins. Jonathan worked in banking for 10 years, starting at Bank of America in Austin and later at Bank of the West in Tulsa. Jonathan left Austin in 2014 to move to Tulsa to be close to his brother and his wife, Amber. He loved living in Tulsa. Jonathan could never be called a couch potato; he lived life to the fullest. He loved comedy and traveling. He volunteered at the Moon Tower Comedy Festival in Austin 6 years. Jon loved spending time on his many adventures. He had the travel bug. Jon traveled to Spain, France, Italy, Canada and the Caribbean plus many other American adventures. Jonathan loved his family dearly and we all loved him the same. Words used by family to describe Jon were loving, sweet, kind, gentle, smart, and genuine with a superior wit. Jonathan showed us by example what a fair, kind and non-judgmental person looks like. Jon was the real deal. Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandparents: Sandra Shield and Ed and Dorothy Turner; as well as many other cherished family members. Jonathan is survived by his parents; his brother Christopher and his wife Amber; grandfather Alan Shield; uncles: Alan Shield, Jr., Crawford Shield, Butch "Eddie" Turner and Rick Turner; aunts: Allison Shield, Holly Osborn, Melanie Keel, Julie Gilbert, Jeanie Pruitt and Diane Hendrickson; along with many loved cousins, extended family and friends. Our precious JonJon aka Birdhouse, Jonny Cake, a baby- you will live in our hearts forever and ever. Services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish North: 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78705 at 10am on Wednesday June 13th, 2018. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
