Judy Beth Depew Adams, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2013 at the age of 74. She was born December 18, 1938 in Austin, Texas to Chester Depew and Florene Watson Depew.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Margaret Ann McCasland (David); and her grandson, Derek McCasland. She is survived by her daughters Nance Nelle (Doug), Kristy Glomb and Melinda Prewett (Matthew) and by her son, Mark Adams (Sharon). She leaves behind 12 grandchildren; Krystal Richter (Marshall), Christopher Nelle, Abigail Kostroun (Mark), Megan Glomb, Caleb Glomb (Victoria), Cory Adams, Sam Adams, Luke Adams, Berkeley Prewett, Caroline Prewett, Katherine Prewett and Lindsey McCasland Vowels. She has 5 great-grandchildren, Jaxson Richter, Amylisa McCasland, Wade Wimberley, Levi Glomb and Liam Kostroun. She is also survived by her loving uncle, Bill Watson and aunt, Marie Watson.

Judy graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Class of 1956, and attended the University of Texas. She worked for the University of Texas System Police for 30 years before retiring in 2001. She began her career at the Office of Director of Police and held many important executive administrative positions. Her co-workers were like family to her and were among her closest friends.

Judy loved Austin and everything about it. She especially enjoyed her beloved UT Longhorns. She was a general sports fanatic but particularly loved watching football and baseball. She loved talking about politics and was truly passionate about her political beliefs. One of Judy's greatest assets among many was her sense of humor. She was always quick to respond with a good joke at the right time. She was a very faithful and dependable friend to many and was consistently described as sweet, soft spoken, giving and unselfish. She had an endless supply of patience; what we all consider to be one of her greatest traits. She was a gentle soul. We will miss her dearly.

Memorial services will take place on December 13, 2013 at 11 o'clock in Austin, Texas, at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin TX 78752. Immediately following, all are invited to the reception to join Judy's family in celebration of her life. Private family interment services will take place before the funeral.

Customary remembrances may be sent to Cook Walden Funeral Home. The family would like to thank A Touch of Home and Hospice Austin for their wisdom, discernment, love, care and support for our mother over the past 15 months.
