LAMONICA, Lynette Ann Died unexpectedly on June 27, 2018. Lynette was born on September 23, 1970, in Syosset, NY. She moved to Texas when she was young, and later attended the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in music. She was a talented singer, performing with the Conspirare Choir, and flautist, sharing her passion for music with others as a flute teacher. Lynette was a self-proclaimed cat lady, a devoted liberal activist, and an avid reader of mystery novels. She loved sitting down to a breakfast of strong coffee and migas. Despite her introverted nature and her lifelong struggle with depression, she surprised all of us by making a name for herself in the Austin stand-up comedy scene. She cared deeply for others and always knew how to make people laugh. Lynette was preceded in death by her father, Frank, and is survived by many loved ones including mother, Carol; siblings, Mike, Lauren, Bridget, and Megan; niece, Frances; step-mothers, Maggie, Ruth, and Arleen; and her beloved cats Franklin and Thomas. Visitation for friends and family will be held on July 3 from 5-7pm in the home of sister Lauren and brother-in-law Jason, at 8006 Parkdale Drive, 78757. Her ashes will be spread at the beach, a place where she always found peace. Family is planning a memorial gathering to take place in the fall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Austin Pets Alive.

Lynette was a rare and beautiful person. She made the world a better and more colorful place, though I'm sure she would tease me for saying so. I'm lucky to have been her friend and will always remember her.

Lynette was one of our daughters first babysitter and Katie loved her. We knew her family from crestview Methodist church as I was the director of music there. She was from such a musical family.
Please accept my most sincere condolences for this tragic loss as well as my prayers for comfort and healing.
All my love,
