Perez, and her sister, Nelda Jean, on Tuesday morning, May 12, 2020. She would have turned 82 on September 30. Omega is a graduate of Austin High School (1956) and played French horn for the Marching Band. She graduated from Nixon Clay Business College, accepted a position at Good Friends and after began her own 52 year "niche" career at J.R. She was a gifted pianist, classical guitarist and enjoyed golf, travel and reading. Her library consisted of the biographies of important composers, opera singers and conductors, authors, iconic figures, poets, and a vast assortment of LP, CD, and sheet music in various musical genres. At her leisure, you would find her at home following the musical score by the works of Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Shubert, and the like. Omega served on piano guilds, music teacher organizations, as a member of KMFA Board of Directors, and was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was refined and quiet, and made significant contributions to her family. Her family adored her, and she adored them. Her sisters are: Ms. Yolanda Greathouse, Dr. Rachel Ruiz, Rev. Dr. Margot Perez-Greene (Ken), and Ms. Marilyn Lacobee. Numerous nieces and nephews remain. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, and Omega will be laid to rest on Monday, May 18, after a private family worship service in the Chapel led by her sister, Margot.
