Richard was born at home on January 4, 1936, in Oenaville, Tx, to Richard Edgar Duncan, Sr. and Elsie Tresie Bigler. He was such a cute, curly headed little boy, his younger aunts fought over him like a ragdoll. He spent the majority of his younger life in Central Texas, with a brief move to Houston. He graduated from Temple High School at the age of sixteen, whereupon he attended University of Texas to graduate with a BS, Chemical Engineering in 1957.

Although Richard is in his heavenly home as Thursday, November 14, 2013, he leaves behind those who will miss his presence: his wife, Barbara Lucille Speights; and his children, including those "he didn't raise," Kris Duncan Rhodes and her husband, Kerry Rhodes; and, Richard "Ried" Edgar Duncan, III, with his wife Donna Thompson Duncan. He is also survived by adored grandchildren; Richard Duncan IV, Elizabeth Rhodes, Ryan Duncan, Ethan Rhodes, and Roy Duncan. He is also survived by his only sibling, Hiram B Duncan and his wife, Glenda Greek Duncan, along with paternal aunt JoNell Duncan Blackburn Davis and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Pallbearers will be Stan Hartin, Billy Duncan, Hiram Duncan, Kerry Rhodes, Ried Duncan, and Richard Duncan.

Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, November 17, at Weed-Corley-Fish, 1200 Bagdad Road, Leander, TX. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18th at Westside Church of Christ, 3300 FM 1431, Round Rock, TX. Interment will follow immediately at Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, TX.
