Yvonne Schieffer Obituary
SCHIEFFER, Yvonne J. Yvonne Jannette Schieffer passed away peacefully on December 2, 2017 in Austin, Texas. She was born to Harry and Zillah Maule Jannette on December 16, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her family lived in Canada and Florida before settling in Dallas, Texas. Yvonne graduated from Highland Park High School and was a proud alumna of Southern Methodist University. Yvonne moved to Austin, Texas where she remained until her death. There she raised her children and enjoyed supporting them in their many activities. She had a strong faith and loved being a member of Saint David's Episcopal Church. Yvonne will always be remembered for her outgoing personality, sharp mind and infectious sense of humor. Always positive, Yvonne's loving and bubbly presence will be missed by many. Even as ill health took over, Yvonne's happy countenance and positivity brightened the days of others. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Zillah Jannette and her sister-in-law, Mamie Jannette. Left behind to cherish her memory are her brother, Harry Jannette, Jr. of Dallas, her children, Steve Head (Kay) of Dallas, Debbie Cowden of Dallas and Thomas Schieffer (Pam) of Washington D.C., her grandchildren, Anna Moss (Ryan) of Dallas, Scott Head (Katie) of Dallas, Katy Cowden of Oklahoma City, Lacy Cowden of Nashville, Nicole Lambert (Matt) of Podgorica, Montenegro, Daniel Schieffer (Jessica Poole) of Dallas, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Cindy Clevenger for her loving care of and dear friendship to Yvonne. They are also very grateful to the staff of Christopher House for their devotion to her in her final days.
