Karen Tolson Obituary

Karen Jeanne Tolson Karen was born February 1, 1961 in Fort Worth, Tx and went to join the angels on February 5, 2009. Karen lived all of her adult life in Austin, Tx. Karen attended Anderson High School and was a licensed Cosmetologist and an accomplished manicurist. Looking in her beautiful blue eyes you could immediately see how caring and considerate she was, with plenty of love to give to everyone who crossed her path. A sweet and loving person Karen loved animals and had horses and numerous other pets. She devoted a lot of her life to taking care of any animal that was in need. This love of animals eventually led to her opening her own pet care service. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Art Tolson. Survivors include her mother, Bonnie Tolson, brother Ken Tolson and wife Mary; sisters Kathy Howle and Kimberly Byington, all of Austin, Tx as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Our baby sister and loving daughter will be missed and always remembered for her sweet heart. A private ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Dearest Tolsons, It is with a very heavy heart that I learned of Karen's passing. I'll love her first and always for making me think I was the funniest person alive(that laugh!) and for introducing me to horses. We shared a neighborhood, faith and so many good times. She was a very special and gentle person and the world is forever changed by her absence. My mother brother and sister, (Peggy, Paul and Claire) are very much touched and saddened by your loss. Two years ago, we lost our baby brother John and know all too well the pain in your heats. I hope there is solace in hope of seeing each other again. with love and sympathy Mary Love-Parsley

Dear Aunt Bonnie, Kathy, Ken and Kimberly,
How your hearts must be breaking. It seems like such a short time ago that Uncle Art went to be with our Lord Jesus. When I think about Karen, I remember those Tolson family Christmas parties. Karen was always smiling with her bright eyes and had such an infectious laugh. Karen and all of you are in my prayers. May God continue to comfort you during this difficult time and may He Bless you always.
My love to all of you,
Tracey

Bonnie, Kathy, Ken, and Kimberly:
I can't even imagine the pain you are enduring and send my great love and affection your way. I talked to my sisters yesterday and we reminisced about playing Barbies and riding horses and all of the animals you guys always had in the back yard. Amidst tragedy, it is healing to remember the good times and feel the love and warmth those memories bring. I love this Helen Keller quote during times of sadness "Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light". I may not be there with you, but I am walking with you in spirit during this time of sadness. Much love to you all.

To the dear Tolson family...Karen and I have remained good friends, throughout these many years. She has been in my thoughts, all day today...remembering all of our hearty laughs and good times that we had together. I shall miss her phone calls, her laugh, kindness, and her generosity.
Karen will always, remain in my heart..and I am certain that she will be in heaven, taking care of our past pets, until we see them again.
She will be sorely missed by those of us who knew her....for she was the kind of star that blazes a bright path through the sky and passes our way but once. There will never be another like her.
