Tommy Joe Ford Tommy Joe Ford, 60, of Austin, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Round Rock, Texas. Tommy grew up in Angleton, Texas, and graduated from Angleton High School in 1968 and Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1972. He dedicated his personal life to the love of his life, his wife of 35 years, Linda Baker Ford, his son Seth Michael Ford, Baylor University, and his extended family and friends. He dedicated his professional career to serving the developmentally disabled and elderly. His latest positions were in the Texas Community Services Department of Aging and Disability Services as a Special Consultant and Director. He was very proud to have completed the Texas Governor's Executive Development Program of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs in 2009. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, James Davis (J.D.) Ford, Jr. and Irene Perry Ford. Survivors include his wife Linda, son and daughter-in-law Seth and Amber, and grandson Connor Macloclan Ford expected in January; brother Johnny Mac Ford and wife Sandy; sister, Peggy LeCompte and husband Charles; sister-in-law Barbara Baker; nephews Danny Ford, Justin LeCompte, and Steven LeCompte and his wife Lindsey; great-nephew Colton,and his godson, Kyle Pearson. A special thanks to Dr. David Morris, the Seton Heart Specialty Care, Seton Central Hospital in Austin, the Texas Heart Institute of Texas at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, and The Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock. In honor of his wishes, his body was donated to the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Seton Heart Transplant Fund, 1301 W. 38th Street, Suite 514, Austin, TX 78705; Austin Heart Foundation (c/o Austin , 10900-B Stonelake Blvd., Suite 320, Austin, TX 78759); or, Mended Hearts Support Group #318, c/o Heart Hospital of Austin, 3801 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78756. Memorial services will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 30th of October, 2010 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, Texas.
