Robert Frederick "Bob" Meyers Obituary
Robert "Bob" Frederick Meyers Robert "Bob" Frederick Meyers, 87, of Cedar Park, Texas passed away on Monday evening July 29, 2013 at the Olin E. Teague Veterans' Medical Center in Temple. He was born April 1, 1926 in Roseville, Michigan to Alexander Meyers and Vera Winifred Meyers. Bob was a graduate of Roseville High School in Roseville, Michigan. He proudly served in the United States Army in both World War II and in the Korean War before retiring as a First Sergeant. After that he was employed with the civil service before retiring for the second time. He is a former resident of Tombstone, Arizona. Bob enjoyed working with computers and was a computer instructor for the Cedar Park Senior Citizen Center. He also liked to tinker with things that were broken and to fix them. He was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast as well as a great Facebook friend. Bob also had a love and great enthusiasm for cars, especially Porsches. And on his 80th birthday he purchased the car of his dreams, a Porsche Boxster. Over the years he was known by a variety of different names, including Dad, Trebor, Grandpa Bob, and Porsche Bob. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Meyers Young, and his three sisters; Joan, Clara and Connie. He is survived by five of his children; Debra Meyers Wilson of Arizona, Dawn Meyers Dixon of Arizona, Dianne Meyers of Florida, Robert "Rob" Meyers of California, Robin Meyers Kelly of Louisiana and by his two brothers; Jim Meyers of Michigan and Jack Meyers of Arizona. He was the grandfather of 12 and the great-grandfather of 10. Bob is also survived by Doris Raeke and her extended family. Doris was his dance partner, crossword puzzle partner and dear friend. At Bob's request there will not be a service. His cremation is being handled by Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, Texas.
