Born in Austin, Travis County, Texas, 22 November 1924

Parents - Bryant James Rupert and Elsie Anna Seibert Rupert

Graduated from Austin High School, Austin, Texas, June 1941. Majorette of the Maroon Band for two years; member of the National Honor Society and various social and academic clubs. Awarded Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, The University of Texas at Austin, June 1946. Delayed a year or so due to following husband to his various army postings in World War Two, as well as stopping briefly to have a baby.

Married Charles L. "Chuck" Chambers at Christ Episcopal Church, Houston, June 1943.

Three sons: L. Rupert Chambers and wife retired District Judge Suzanne Covington of Taos, New Mexico; Captain Regan S. Chambers, USN (Ret) and wife Barbara, The Woodlands, Texas; Christopher Lee Chambers and wife Feliz, The Woodlands, Texas. Six grandsons: Andrew Chambers, Dallas, Texas; Patrick Chambers, Dallas, Texas; LT Travis Chambers, USN, San Diego, California; Bryant A. Chambers, UT Graduate School, Austin; Will B. Chambers, UT Law School, Austin; Taylor B. Chambers, Graduating Senior, Texas A & M, College Station, Texas.

Thirty plus years career as a Legal Secretary, including secretary to First Assistant Attorney General of Texas Joe Greenhill, Austin, 1946 to 1949; Legal Department of Phillips Petroleum Company, Midland, Texas, 1950; Rawl and Henderson, Admiralty Law Firm, founded in 1797, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1964 to 1971; secretary to senior partner of Nalle, Miller and Cadenhead, Atlanta, Georgia 1971-1978, as well as with several private practice attorneys over the years.

Member Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Alpha Phi Chapter, The University of Texas at Austin.

After retirement in 1983, resided in Llano County, Texas for ten years where active in Republican Party and other civic affairs. Returned to the Houston area in 1993, and resided in Country Place in Brazoria County until late 2002. Since then, a resident of The Forum in The Woodlands. An avid participant in Elderhostel programs, attending over thirty since 1985. An RV'er for twelve years, traveling over the entire United States several times. Toured Europe twice, once by auto and once by rail. A member of Clayton Library Friends and a devoted amateur genealogist. A caring mother and grandmother who dispensed tough love to her male descendants.

Body cremated. Memorial service at a future date in April. Memorial to one's choice or Montgomery County Women's Shelter. Ashes to be buried alongside her parents (and husband in future) in a Hill Country cemetery high above everything.
