KITOWSKI,

Charles Bernard

Charles Bernard Kitowski Sr., 91, of Lakeway, Texas passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014. Charlie was born in San Antonio, Texas November 28, 1923 to Charles and Ruth Sien Kitowski. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1941 and attended St. Mary's College, both in San Antonio. After volunteering to serve in the Army Air Corps during WW II, Charlie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Charlie's long career in oil field equipment sales took Zenia and their eight children to various cities across Texas and Canada. A devoted husband and father Charlie lived his life helping others and supporting the church. Retired in Lakeway since 1990, he maintained an active lifestyle and was a familiar figure throughout the area to those who lived and worked there.

Last September Charlie had the opportunity to fly to Washington D.C to visit the WW II Memorial along with other veterans as part of the Honor Flight program honoring the men and women who bravely served our country. He was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and appreciation from the community.

Whether you knew him as Charlie, Dad, Pops, Papa or Kit, you knew that he had a positive outlook on life, genuinely loved people and treated everyone with the utmost courtesy and respect.
