Pat - I just noticed John´s passing as I am looking forward to being in Santa Fe next Spring. So sorry for your loss. Currently, I am setting in our great room admiring five of John´s art pieces, one of which we commissioned for over our fireplace. His tremendous talent will be missed.

What wonderful times we had together in Austin and working with Pat at Rotan Mosle. “Party at the Oteri’s” was often our mantra and will always be a treasured memory. Terry and I are saddened at the loss of this talented, warm and wonderful man. Our love and thoughts are with you, Pat.

John Oteri was a dear friend and close acquaintenance while we all lived in Austin. We knew him and his wife, Pat (a work colleague), and considered both friends with whom we enjoyed many times with. We knew him as an exceptional person and talented architect who harbored a passion for art. He followed his passion while in Santa Fe and will always remember him and Pat dearly. We hope Pat is consoled by the many people John touched during his life and can count on many friends to provide support and comfort during this time of loss. Jorge

So sorry for your loss. I knew John when we were both teens playing baseball. John possessed a really nasty curve ball I had trouble hitting. I decided on my next bat to hang in there and hit his curve. The first pitch was out sidebar called a strike. The next pitch, I thought, was his curve ball. I didn't back out of the batters box and hung in just waiting of that ball to curve over the plate. It never did and smacked me on the side of my head. Once i got to my feet, John came over and apologized for the pitch. I hadn't seen John for a long time and ran into him in Port Arthur where he was working as an architect. I was an architect too so we were kindred spirits. Again, so very sorry for your loss. John was really a great guy . . . . except when he threw that curve ball.
