Beverly Ann (Yount) Mack, age 83, passed away on September 1, 2018 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and was a former resident of Colville, Washington and Plains, Montana. Bev was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma on June 14, 1935 to LeRoy and Prudence Yount. She was married to Allan Mack former county commissioner and auctioneer in Stevens County.
Bev grew up in rural Oklahoma attending a one room schoolhouse until age 13. At that time, her family moved to Longmont, Colorado. She attended and graduated from Longmont High School in 1953. She married Donald Hamilton in 1954 and Jo Donna was born April 1955. She remarried in December 1958, Allan Lee Mack, the man of her dreams. Due to Allan's work with General Dynamics Astronautics, they lived in a variety of locations. Their daughter, Cynthia, was born in 1961 and their son, Randy was born in 1965. The family then moved to eastern Washington and settled on a ranch near Addy. Not long after moving to the Colville valley, she enjoyed attending and being involved in church ministry, along with her family over the years. Bev helped out on the ranch, cashiered for Allan's auctions, assisted Dr. Lindeman as his office nurse, drove a school bus, was a church secretary, and volunteered as an EMT. She was involved with Stump Ranchers, Steven County Cowbelles, Grange, Sweet Adelines, the Gideons, and Hospital auxiliary. Bev always enjoyed working with others but liked to be in the background serving rather than in the forefront. She lived in the Colville area until 2013 and then moved to Plains, Montana until 2017, when she moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to have more assisted care.
Bev thoroughly enjoyed her Boston Terrier dogs, of which she had 8 over the years. The love of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. A favorite saying of Bev's was "It's okay, the Lord's in charge." Bev knew without a doubt that God was the leader of her life and she willingly chose to surrender to him day by day.
Bev is survived by her daughter Jo D. Anderson; daughter Cynthia Noble (John); son Randy Mack (Heidi); 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her beloved Boston Terrier, Selena. She was preceded in death by her husband Allan, her parents LeRoy and Prudence Yount, her brother David, and son-in-law Doug Anderson, and is currently rejoicing with them in the presence of Jesus!
The memorial service for Bev will be held at First Baptist Church in Colville on September 7 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice in honor of Bev.
