Janna P. Bakker Obituary
Janna P. Bakker

Perrydale - Janna P Bakker grew up in St Maartensdyk, Holland as Janna Hengstmengal. During World War II she met Jacob Bakker, married and moved to Oregon where they bought a dairy farm and raised 2 sons in Perrydale Oregon. Janna was an extremely hard worker, keeping the household together, baking, canning, working in the milking parlor, raising 2 boys, growing a garden, not to mention the outside activities. Janna was involved with the Oregon Dairy wives as Vice president, taught kids at Perrydale school how to knit. Janna was always involved with the 4-H and FFA programs contributing time and money to both.

Janna was loved by all she met. She was always welcoming friends and strangers to chocolate chip cookies and Milk Shakes. Repair workers would wait sheepishly for her to write the check hoping to get a bag of her cookies, and Perrydale Cross Country runners would take a workout run to the farm house for milk shakes, skipping the extra miles.

Janna loved to cook and have people come to the farm for conversation. We can not recall a person who did not want to spend time with Janna better known as Jenny, enjoying her broken English which she learned going to movies self taught herself to read and write English.. She loved to host School reunions at the farm

Janna was born disabled with a club foot and it never slowed her down winning races as a small girl, continuing to drive hard through life. The lessons she taught her children, grand children, Step grand children, and great grand children was life is never easy, but show courage and strength and you will concur all.

She was the greatest most generous person we will always be grateful for. Janna has 2 sisters and a brother living in St Maartensdyk, The Netherlands, 2 sons, 4 grand children, 4 great grand children, 2 Step grand Children in the USA, and more admires than can be counted. She has made this world a better place!
