Marvin W. "Red" Olin
Salem - Marvin was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin On July 15th 1911. His parents were Bolivar and Julia Olin. His family included Alden, Beatrice, Lorraine and Martha, with Marvin being born last. He came to Oregon in 1934 at 23 years old. He chose Salem as his home because he was a "small town" boy. He worked for Perry Quisenberry in his Central pharmacy on State Street for four years. And then, in 1940 he purchased the "Salem Vintage Store." He spent three years in the service during World War Il, where he served in the Army Signal Corps in San Francisco. He married Bernadine McAlexander in 1939. They were married 53 years. Bernadine passed away in 1992. In 1994 Marvin married Mildred "Cross" Clement. Mildred passed away in 2001. There will be a "celebration of life" in remembrance of Marvin, at Hidden Lakes Retirement Community. 400 Madrona Avenue SE, Salem Oregon 97302, Saturday, January 4th at 2pm. Virgil T.
