To all of Kevin's family:

Tears welled up in my eyes when I read of Kevin's passing.

I doubt if Kevin would remember me, but I remember him very, very well. I was his junior-year English teacher at South Salem High School, when I was pretty much a novice at teaching. Kevin (and his buddy Tom Seitz, who sat next to him) made teaching fun. Kevin (whom, along with Tom, I sometimes called "Stewey") was bright and engaging, had a wonderful sense of humor, and always a delightful twinkle in his eye. I also remember him as a fine athlete.

There are a few students I've met during my career that I always hoped I'd see again someday: Kevin was one of them. It saddens me so much to know that I will not.

I express my heart-felt condolences to each and every member of his family: I feel deeply for your loss.

Maria & family, Doug and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your children. We are very close friends of his parents. One of our daughters, Donna Ryan, went through High School with Kevin. We are in contact with the Stewarts and know what all you have been through. You are in our thoughts & prayers. We admire what a very strong lady you are and I know God will continue to give you comfort & strength.
