SALEM - Samuel Currier is survived by the love of his life, Leola Smith; children, Michelle and Michael Gregonis, Jayson and Lora Currier, Tersha Currier; four grandchildren; step-children, Regina Smith and Debra Smith; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Sam was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He moved to Oregon as a young boy. Sam graduated from Yoncalla High School and upon graduation, enlisted in the US Navy. Following his naval service, he attended and graduated from Temple University getting a degree Cum Laude in Science. He worked for RCA, N.A.S.S.A., Sperry and Norpac. Sam loved to travel and resided many years in South Africa with his children before returning to the United States. He also enjoyed watching football, tennis and visiting the casino. A great story teller, with a wonderful sense of humor, he will be deeply missed by all. At his request, no public services will be held. Arrangements by Restlawn Funeral Home.
