I had the honor of being at several Monster Truck shows where Lloyd was hosting. As other have said "he lit up the room" when he walked in. But he was able to light up the entire crowd at these shows. I can say without reservation that the entire crowed just really loved this young man!!!! I went to this years show and found out he was gone. Tears from my eyes now thinking about his family and friends..Truly a one-of-kind young man...

We saw him on Jay's Garage and we were impressed with his MC skills. He related so well to the crowd and Jay. It was nice that they dedicated the show to him. So sorry about his passing.

Lloyd and I went to Alameda elementary together, with two of his brothers. I still remember him always cracking jokes and poking fun out on the basketball court. The last time I saw him he, his youngest brother (Kyle Massey), and I were on our way to the greyhound station. Kyle had told me something was going on in Lloyd's life at that time, but there he was still smiling and cracking jokes. The world is a little less bright without his cheeky smile.

There are a few students who will always stand out in a very special way and Lloyd was definitely one of my favorites. Even after finishing one of my classes at Sprague, Lloyd always made time to stop by and keep in touch. I loved him and his sweet sister, Bethany, for their joy, laughter, kindness to all and positive presence.
May God bless him and his family during this difficult time. Lloyd will be greatly missed!

Dear Vicki, Bethany, Carl and Kyle,
It is with a tearful heart that I write to extend to you my condolences for the sudden loss of your son and brother. It is so hard to lose someone in the prime of his life. May you find strength from your memories and in the love of family and friends. I remember Lloyd as a Hot Shot at many of the same fairs and fair conventions as i attended, always a smile.
My sincere and deepest sympathy.

Hard to understand why in the blink of an eye such an incredible guy and an amazing talent could be taken. Lloyd will be missed in a big big way. I only knew Lloyd by sharing the arena in Indio with WGAS and helping pick up car parts after the show, I have the ostrich and camel's. Kind of an odd way to meet someone, cleaning an arena, but the pleasure was all mine. I am blessed that I was able to spend a few hours each February laughing and talking with with such a neat fun guy. I envy all who had more time with Lloyd. I only knew Lloyd through working with him in Indio but felt as if we were life long friends and was always treated as so. God bless and you are all in our prayers. Aryn Hedrick

I think of Lloyd with a smile as I remember a special performance of the mad tapping Massey team up in Redmond at the county fair some years ago. Part emcee, part stand up comic and large part talented dancer, Lloyd along with brother Carl held the crowd in the palm of his hand as they talked and tapped their way through a medley of sweet, sweet dances to hits that we all knew and loved. What a light he brought to the world. It is a little dimmer now without him. Love to you all as you honor the life of your brother, son, friend.

I only new Lloyd briefly, I had seen him and his siblings perform at the Clark County Fair. I commented on their website and he took the time to respond. We talked online for a while since he was in Salem and I in Prtland, and finally had the chance to meet in person when he visited Corvallis, where I was attending college. I was going through a hard time in my life, and the unexpected kindness he showed me helped me start to turn things around. Although a brief friendship, it has always stayed with me because he was unique and special. It is heartbreaking to see such a wonderful person taken from this world so soon. What he did for me will always remain in my heart, and I will never forget him.

He always lit a room when he walked in. He was nice to everyone. He didn't care who you were. I remember him walking up to me saying hi and giving me a hug. I will never forget him. My heart goes out to the family. R.I.P

Met Lloyd in spring of 2014. We were the east coast team coming to do shows on the west coast with WGAS. We were actually nervous how people would take us being from the east coast. We pull into the hotel at 3am and I hear this voice from the second floor. He says you must be Richie Blackburne...... We have been waiting for you and it is great to meet you. We spent a whole month with WGAS and got to know Lloyd pretty well. He always had his tap shoes with him. I was very impressed with his talent. News of his passing has upset me greatly because I can truthfully say Lloyd was my friend and I will always remember his great presentation in front of a crowd. I hope heaven is a real place and we will meet again some day. Please watch over us buddy......

I first saw Lloyd and siblings dance at the Clackamas county fair! Being a dance studio owner at the time I hadn't heard of the Hot Shots! I was instantly blown away by them all but Lloyds personality was captivating. He was meant to be on stage. I proceeded to meet them and Lloyd and siblings all came at one point to teach for me. His dad drove him from Salem every Monday night to teach. Lloyd was loved by all. I had many favorite dances of his but one he did at a recital was to Rubberband Man with brother Kyle! That one stands out. When I heard about what happened to Lloyd I was shocked! So sad to lose someone so talented and so young. I am honored to have known him and will always remember that dynamic personality! I'm sure he's still tapping away!

Lloyd was always the one dude to light up the entire room. He was always full of kindness and blessed everyone so wholeheartedly. In microelectronics, when I was struggling, he made sure i passed. Musically he helped introduce me to soul and funk. Knowing Lloyd wasn't a gift I ever could have asked for, but it is a gift I will always be eternally grateful for. I thank the Lord for giving me so much wisdom and understanding through knowing the man, and I pray his angel form just elevates and inspires us all continually. Really blessed to have known him.

I remember going to Massey's home for my children's dance classes, and no matter how long the day had been, there was this instant feeling of peace, love, and happiness. Even in work, Lloyd made us laugh, through mentoring and entertaining and just loving, he gave everything his all. His spirit was huge, a presence on it's own, and as we would leave the dance lessons, we would feel so uplifted and inspired. He was 16-17 years old then, and even though he had the personality that could laugh with his students and relate, he also seemed a wise soul, who knew how to uplift a person with a simple phrase or his endearing smile. Going to the Massey's and watching them dance and watching Lloyd work with my son Zachary are very dear memories to all of us, which we will forever cherish. The Massey family always welcomed myself and my husband inside to talk and we always felt nothing but love in the Massey's presence.
