Genevieve "Jean" O'Keefe, 77, of St. Augustine, passed away on Dec. 30, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Jean as was born, grew up, and lived for much of her life in New York City. She married James Christopher O'Keefe on August 31, 1963 and was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker; raising a family of three children as she worked as a legal secretary at a law firm to help support her family.

In 1980, she moved to New Port Richey with her family and served as executive secretary for Pasco County Sheriff Jim Gillum for many years. After retiring from the Sheriff's Office, Jean served as director of human resources for the community of Harmony. Jean loved to dance and enjoyed crocheting. More than anything, Jean loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed. She was a member of Anastasia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Christopher O'Keefe. She is survived by daughters, Jeanmarie "Jeannie" O'Keefe and Kris Lynch and her husband Kevin, all of St. Augustine; a son, James B."Jimmy" O'Keefe of Tampa; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at Anastasia Baptist Church with Dr. Walter West officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
