Margaret McFall Chauvin Nease was born on April 2, 1924, and passed away at Moultrie Creek on Dec. 29, 2017. Margie thanks her family and friends for making her journey exciting and memorable. The youngest of five girls, she was born in Cannelton, Indiana, to a musical family. After nurse's training she visited family in St. Augustine, moved, began a long nursing career, and married Frederick Chauvin. For over 60 years she called Anastasia Island her home. In 1969 Margie married Allen D. Nease Sr. and assisted him with political and public service initiatives. Allen once said, "Had they married earlier he would have been Governor of Florida." From the late 1980s Margie was active with service organizations from the Council on Aging to the Friends of the Library inspiring each with her dynamic spirit and making lasting improvements. As health failed Margie resided in various area care facilities. A special "Thank You" to the staff of each facility and VITAS Hospice for their love and tireless patience, you made her later years enjoyable. Immediate survivors include: daughters Margaret Chauvin and Suzette King; granddaughter Vivien Morris; nieces Mary Jane Hunt, Paula Owens, Belinda Busam. Margie will be remembered for her smile, high style and hats, and sound advice. She met each day as a new opportunity to serve others. A private service will be held at a later time. Donations to VITAS Hospice are appreciated.
