Margaret Mann Clements Obituary
Margaret Mann Clements, age 95, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully September 3, 2018 at the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Nursing Home. She was born August 18, 1923 to Virginia and Walker Mann in Memphis, Tennessee where she was raised and graduated high school. After graduation Margaret served her country during World War II in the United States Army. She started her Army career as a dental assistant and received training as a stenographer while serving. After her honorable discharge she moved to Washington, DC and was employed as a stenographer at the Pentagon. In 1951 she moved to Florida and married her husband, John W. Clements where they ran a fernery in Crescent City, Fl. In 1970 her husband passed away and Margaret took over the fernery until 1978 when she returned to school for a refresher course in secretarial skills. She then began working for Welaka National Fish Hatchery as a secretary until she was 70. After retirement she bought a camper and joined the Loners on Wheels camping group, traveling and camping around Florida. Margaret taught Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church in Crescent City for over 30 years. Throughout her life Margaret rescued many stray cats and dogs, finding them good homes or keeping them herself. More than anything she was a kind, generous mother and grandmother, demonstrating true unconditional love. She will be deeply missed.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Donna Fee of St. Augustine; niece/daughter, Robbie Young of Ft. Walton Beach; grandchildren, Jeremy Wolter (Katie), Ashley Fee (Rich), Holly Fee (Ryan) and Michelle Fee (Sarah) and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Clements; daughter, Mary Lynn Jenkins and sister, Mary Ragsdale.
