Scott Patrick Cook Obituary
Scott Patrick Cook, 60, went home to be with the Lord, Jan. 4, 2019. He passed away in UF Health Jacksonville at 4:49 a.m. Scott was born on July 27, 1958, at the Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira, N.Y, to Angelo and Joan Cook. He had one sibling, Judy Dupree, whom he loved very much.

As a young man he savored the challenge of competition and spent several years as an amateur boxer in New York. He made Florida his home in 1988, where he was a successful restaurateur and wine merchant for several high end companies. Nationally awarded and recognized for his wine lists, his mark was cemented in the continuous legacy of his foot prints. His work ethic and embodiment of self-sacrifice shaped his professional contributions and sculpted his children's endeavors. He had a true passion for all things historic, but coins were probably his favorite tangible historic item. After retiring, he spent some of his spare time dealing ancient coins. More than dealing, he enjoyed the restoration process, the idea of making something old like new again. A student at heart, he also enjoyed researching, learning and having civil discussions and debates on a wide range of topics from history and philosophy to science and climate change. Scott also enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge with those around him, especially pouring into his family and friends. He used Twitter as a larger platform for sharing knowledge, where he gathered more than 2,000 followers, amongst those being academically revered professors and climate scientists.

He is survived by his three children; Lauren Cook (Allart), Freemansburg, Penn.; Collin Cook (Jessica), Pompano Beach; and Courtney Moss (Andrew), Palm Coast, as well as his three loving grandchildren: Jacob, Lucas and Isabella.

A memorial service will be held from 12-2 p.m. at Evangel Assembly of God, 99 North Old Kings Road, Palm Coast, FL 32137 on Jan. 19, 2019. Lunch will be served.
