Sandra Campbell Obituary

Sandra Leigh (Sandy) Campbell, of Courtice Ontario, passed away on October 24, 2021.
Sandy was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario to Donald Leroy Campbell and Eileen Guest Chapman on January 20, 1953. She went to high school at Stamford Collegiate and graduated in 1972. She went on to earn degrees in Psychology from the Universities of Windsor, Guelph, and Toronto. She supported the mental health of those in Durham region first in institutional settings and later in private practice. She loved animals, and the outdoors and was a champion baker. Her chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and brownies were famous, and she continued to gift them to her lucky friends and family long after she stopped being able to enjoy them. She was a friendly face in farmers' markets and in the food community and was generous with her time and attention. She volunteered every year making baskets for those in need and her enthusiasm for Christmas was contagious. She raised happy Labradors and inspired a love of the water in her son, nieces, and nephews, and spent patient hours on the water teaching them to swim, sail and canoe.

Sandy is survived by her son Matthew, her siblings Paul Campbell (Michelle), Peter Campbell, and Anna Mae Vaccaro (Dominic), nieces and nephews, Meghan, Lindsay and Laura Senese, Colin (Kate) and Katherine Campbell, and Mary Elizabeth and Daniel John Vaccaro. Sandy is predeceased by her siblings Mary Senese and David Campbell.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Team Chelsea in Durham region, or to an animal or wildlife organization of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Sandy for her unshakable kindness and unconditional love and invites anyone reading this to tell your people that you love them.
