On Friday, May 7, 2021, Saundra Kacho, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at age 76. Saundra was born November 14, 1944 in Quebec to Frank and Claire Sinodinos. She attended the Loretto Academy, and Hamilton Teachers College. Saundra earned her BA at Brock University, and her MSW from Niagara University. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher, and finished her career teaching at Brock Teachers College. Saundra met her husband, Alex, at Teachers College. They married June 30, 1966. Saundra and Alex raised two children, Alexis and Christopher. A dedicated grandmother to Braeden and Renata, her grandchildren brought her endless pride and happiness. Sweetie and Lily, her beautiful cats never ceased to make her laugh. Saundra loved her many nieces and nephews. She was a loyal and true friend to an amazing circle people. Saundra loved spending time with her family most of all. Family holidays, like Christmas, were her absolute favourite. Saundra was preceded in death by her husband Alex, her father Frank, her mother Claire, brother Gary, and sister Jean. My name is Nathan, I’m 42 this year and Mrs. kacho was my grade school teacher at st. Anthony’s in western St. Catharines. My goodness, this saddens me of her passing as she was legendary in my life. And in my eyes, legends never die. I was a bit of a hard case when our paths crossed, that may be why she was drawn to me, she never seemed to be the type to shy away from a challenge and at times I’m certain I gave her a run for her money, lol. Over time her heart and the love she poured into me, broke me from the person I was or who I may have turned out to be. I’m forever thankful for the Godsend that she was and thank you, to many friends and family that shared her with the many students she’s made an impact on over the years. That must have been tough to be that close to an angel and have to share her. I haven’t been in contact with her for over 30 something years but mark my words, she’s been etched in my heart since the first day she pulled me aside and opened me up. Forever grateful, forever loved, forever missed, forever remembered, forever mrs. Kacho. My condolences. Xoxo.

We are saddened to hear of Saundra's passing. We remember her as a dedicated and very creative teacher. She was well respected by staff and students. I had the opportunity to both teach with Saundra at St. James, as well as having been a student of Mrs. Kacho at St. Alfred. Denise and I both remember her as a very warm person with a very loving family. Sending you our sincere condolences. Rest in Peace Saundra.

Mrs. Kacho, I am saddened to see you here. You are always remembered fondly with a smile whenever I look back on my childhood and time at St. James with you as my teacher. I have told many a story to my nieces and nephews of moments in class and things you said that have stayed with me to this day. You were wonderful. You would make us laugh and you made learning fun. You were firm with us when we needed it and I know looking back I was not always easy but you guided me to do and be better. You made me feel secure in talking to you about anything. I recall with warm heart our religious retreat to Loretto Academy and am still so grateful you convinced my father to let me go. I may not have seen you since grade school but your memory has stayed with me always and always will.
Thank you Mrs. Kacho. May You Rest In Peace.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to all of your family.
