JOSEPH ROLAND GILBERT "Roly" of Bear Lake February 26, 1935 - February 10, 2021 Peacefully at Muskoka Landing in Huntsville on Wednesday February 10, 2021. Roly Gilbert, long time partner of Linda Smith, was in his 86th year. Father of Darren, Lynn, Sue (Lenny), Randy (Caroline), and the late Debbie. Brother of Roger (Terry), Robert, Mary (Germaine), Monique (late John) and Jerry (Francine). Roly is predeceased by his parents Alfreda and Harmidas Gilbert and siblings Cam, John, Henry (Rose) and Lou, his son Roly Jr. and stepson Jon; he is survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews and numerous good friends. Roly worked most of his life for Highway Clearing Co. He and his brothers were once avid race car drivers and once retired he was an ardent and successful fisherman. Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls with a celebration of life to be conducted at a later date.
