Lidia BAGGS Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 just 3 days after her 95th birthday. Beloved wife of Graham Baggs (deceased) for 55 years. Loving mother of Tamara Baggs (husband Torsten Kahl) and Nicholas Baggs (wife Michelle Lundy). Caring grandmother of Nicholas Kahl; Adam, Benjamin, Ryan and Heidi Baggs. Predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Anna Lagodich and her brother Nicholas. Lidia moved to Canada from Poland with her parents in 1939, settling in Port Robinson, Ontario. She went on to enjoy many achievements which included obtaining her Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Toronto, raising a family in remote northern Ontario Hydro camps and successfully managing a jewellery store in Kingston, Ontario for many years. She was also an accomplished world traveller, with trips to Alaska, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cuba, Indonesia, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Thailand, Tunisia, and locations throughout Canada and the United States. But most of all, she will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and fierce advocate for fairness, equity and social justice. Lidia will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Her family would like to extend their greatest appreciation to her Fairmount "family" for their exceptional and compassionate care of Lidia for the past five years. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Kingston Humane Society, Fairmount Home or the Frontline Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES, KINGSTON. Please feel free to share your memories of Lidia online at www.cataraquicemetery.ca
