Norman Gillard Obituary

Sadly we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and friend who was overtaken by a devastating illness that ravaged his body, but never dampened his gentle, giant spirit. Beloved husband of Lorraine Gillard. Caring father of Nairn (Alicia) and Carrey (Mitch). Stepfather of Cheryl (Dave), Billy, David (Layla) and Jamie. Lovingly missed by his six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Niagara Falls and proudly worked as a Millwright at Norton, Washington Mills and in the foundry at General Motors. John was a hardworking, kind-hearted, honest and genuine person who had a passion for the Detroit Red Wings and motorcycles. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and support staff of the Niagara Health System for their hard work and dedication to his care. It was greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John's Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or M.A.D.D. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com

My condolences to Johns family on his passing . Worked with John as a Millwright at GM. Always a hard worker and dedicated family man he was a great example to many. Life was never dull when working with John as situations happened and we had many a good laugh . I don't know if he ever found out who the neighbour was that would put burned chicken wings in the back of his pickup the his beloved Detroit Red Wings would lose, it was a source of great fun for John .God bless you John you were one in a million .
