Man, this is so sad. The end of an era. The band was such a part of my life and still is and he was it. I still play today and my go to fun licks are still Molly Hatchet. Their music always makes me feel good even in the saddest times.

Steve and I were friends in the mid 80s when he lived in Marshfield, mass. He worked at the print shop I worked at. I used to go to his house and jam. He had quite the stage setup in his basement. Although he was miles ahead of me as a guitar player, he was nothing but encouraging. We had some wild times. Lost contact after I moved to California. Rest well Stevie j.

Steve was a wonderful inspiring, encouraging and caring man. If it wasn't for him, I'd still be wearing turtle neck and high collared shirts. May he rest in peace with God. He'll always be a treasured person and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have been a fan of Steve, and every guitarist in the band Molly Hatchet since they put their first album out. Their brand of Southern Rock had a sound you recognized immediately-I often called it “Southern Metal”. His projects since then have also been very good. It breaks my heart that he has passed, and now all the original members are gone.
Luckily-this story has a happy ending . He accepted Christ, and although gone from his body, he is very much alive in Heaven, hopefully wailing away on his guitar. And though it is sad he is gone, the fact that I can meet him someday makes me happy. If I can find him in Heaven-and the Lord doesn’t mind....I’m gonna ask Steve if he can get the band together and let me sing “Boogie No More” with them....that would be a thrill!

What a journey this has been. Its still hard to believe that now steve Holland has passed that they are all gone so young. I will be forever grateful that I got to see them in 79 in my home town of Jacksonville Florida. Lots of good memories me standing in my bedroom with my hair brush and acting like I was singing flirting with disaster song. May you all be back together in heaven and putting the band together.
