Gillette, Verjeanne
Verjeanne L. Gillette, 76, Vesper, died peacefully on January 12, 2013 at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, after a courageous struggle with a lengthy illness.
Virgie thoroughly enjoyed life. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Virgie was born February 19, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids to Paul and Irene (Pinney) Zabel. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Beauty School in Wausau. Virgie was a beautician for 45 years and owner/operator of the Vesper Beauty Shop.
In 1957, Virgie married Thomas Gillette. They lived in Tomahawk before eventually settling in Vesper where they raised their 2 children. Virgie and Thomas celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage.
Virgie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vesper and St. John's Lutheran Church, Sigel.
Virgie is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas; son, Kirk (Mary) Gillette of Vesper; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Cychosz of Custer: grandchildren, Chelsea Gillette of Vesper, Matthew Gillette of Minot, ND, Jordan Gillette of Vesper, Allision Cychosz of Custer, Eric Cychosz of Platteville and Noah Cychosz of Custer; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Irene Zabel.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vesper. Reverend Douglas Schalow will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the church and last until the time of services. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Grand Rapids.
A memorial in Virgie's memory will be established at a later date.
A very special word of thanks goes to the nurses and staff of Ministry Home Hospice and the nurses and staff of the House of the Dove for their kind and compassionate care of Virgie and her family.

So sorry to read (online) of Virgie's passing. I have many memories of us growing up & the numberous times we spend time playing & having fun. I can still picture those times in my mind, whether it was at Uncle Bob's, Grandma/Grandpa Pinney's or at her house, all in Vesper.
