Eleanor Manti, 88, of Plover, died peacefully at home on April 28, 2013. She was born on March 13, 1925. Friends since high school and loving wife of 66 years to Robert Manti.

Eleanor is survived by her six children: Peter, Phillip, Honore Dowell, Jennifer Valenti, Mary (Paul) Murphy and Francesca.

She was the daughter of the late Anton and Ursula Sweykata. She is also survived by her twin sister, Elsie Patterson; and older sister, Angeline Gleason.

Eleanor was a lifelong lover of mystery books and enjoyed a wonderful career as librarian at Marquette University (Milwaukee). Her passion was writing poetry. In passing on her love of reading, she will forever live in the memory of her loving grandchildren: Rex, Keith, Corrine, Kaity, Paul, Genevieve and Gabrielle; and her great-grandchildren: Eric, Finn, Adelé, Lilly, Nora, Aria and Linus.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will follow in the Plover Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time for Mass. Pisarski Community Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Plover, is assisting the family.
