Hasenohrl, Othmar J.

Othmar Hasenohrl, 89, formerly of Marshfield, passed away on December 30, 2013 at the Stevens Point Care Center. He was born on March 27, 1924 in Hewitt, WI to Charles and Theresa (Schneider) Hasenohrl. After graduating from Marshfield Senior High he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Rita Brockman on June 21, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Altdorf, WI. At the time he was employed by Roddis Inc. in Marshfield. In 1949 they moved to St. Paul, MN where he worked for the U.S. Post Office as a railway mail clerk. He later moved back to Marshfield and became a rural mail carrier out of Auburndale. He retired in 1987 after 38 years of service. He worked for many years at the Adler Theatre and later Rogers Cinema as a doorman and projectionist. After retirement he volunteered in various areas of St. Joseph's Hospital and St. John's School and at St. Vincent DePaul. He also enjoyed traveling, bowling and square dancing.

He is survived by his wife Rita of 66 years, and 4 children, Teresa Hasenohrl of Green Bay, Stephen (Judy) Hasenohrl of Rapid City, SD, Deborah (George) Wiciak of Richfield, WI, David (Nancy) Hasenohrl, of Oshkosh, WI, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother, Donald, and a sister, Isabella Leffel.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ladick, his parents, a brother, Carl and 5 sisters, Ann Wolter, Eleanor Regner, Imelda Schiferl, Victoria Krueger and Mary Ann Deitchman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
