She worked at Montgomery Ward in the catalog department as a sales clerk and eventually became the bookkeeper and tele-typist, working for the company for more than 22 years before retiring in 1985. She did bookbinding from her home, running Langton Book Repair for many years until she decided to retire in 2013.

Marjorie was a longtime member of the Barbara Rebekah Lodge and Christian Science Church. She also enjoyed staying active in the PTA at the Jefferson, Emerson and PJ Jacobs schools while her three children were in school.

Marjorie enjoyed gardening, photography, reading, cooking, working on her computer and iPad, playing card games, fishing and spending time with her family. She was a talented bowler and folk dancer in her earlier years. In recent years, she enjoyed taking classes in Spanish and painting at the Lincoln Senior Center.

Survivors include her children, Susan (Neil) Hodson of Bloomington, Minn., Nancy (James) DeWitt of Rhinelander and David (Patricia) Langton of Mosinee; grandchildren, Anne (Scott) Meurn, Sara (Todd) Gaffin, Rebecca (Bradley) Smith, Daniel (Gina) DeWitt, Christopher (Jamie) DeWitt, Brian (Amy) DeWitt, Benjamin Langton and Timothy (Carolyn Tiry) Langton; and 14 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her siblings, George (Kathleen) Sparks, Bernice Klos and Gertrude Hanson; brother-in-law, Lynn (Ellen) Langton; and sister-in-law, Lolita Engebretson.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m, Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Boston Funeral Home, 1649 Briggs St. in Stevens Point. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund in her name has been established for the Lincoln Senior Center Education Programs.

Marjorie's children would like to thank the ambulance attendants and emergency room workers at Saint Michael's who worked so hard to help Marjorie. A special thank-you to Marjorie's neighbors, Diane Houlihan and Sharon Adams, for all their help.
