Barbara Jean Weisbrot "Aunt Barbara" was called home on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was born in Nelsonville, WI on December 14, 1931. She graduated from the Jerome Nelson Grade School in Nelsonville; Amherst High School; and received a Bachelor of Education Degree from the Wisconsin State College (Stevens Point) in 1953.

She taught primary education for 36 years-3years in Wisconsin and 33 years in Illinois. She also worked in Illinois for the Department of Agriculture and for the Veteran's Administration Research Hospital. After retiring from teaching in 1992, she enjoyed serving the government for 11 years as Clerk of the Village of Nelsonville.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. In her efforts to promote small-group prayer, she wrote several prayer booklets. To please her sister, she printed many of her "Snow Goose Rhymes", as she called them. She also enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, writing poetry, painting and knitting. She will be remembered for asking lots of questions and inspiring a good debate.

She is survived by her sister and best friend, Anne Moore, of Kaukauna, WI; her Sister-in-law, Doris Weisbrod of Waupaca, WI; 7 nieces; 7nephews; 30 great nieces and nephews; and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle (Diver) Weisbrot; her brothers, John Forrest Weisbrod and Charles Edward Weisbrod; her sister, Helen Ruth Sherburne; her brother-in-laws, Thomas Sherburne and Richard Moore; her sister-in-law, Delphine Weisbrod, and her niece Patricia's husband, Donald Mignon.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI, on Friday, April 12th, at 11:00 AM. The celebrant will be Father Robert Pedretti. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the St. James Cemetery, Amherst, WI. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barbara appreciated the many years of care given by her Oncologists, Dr. Timothy Goggins and Dr. Richard Mercier; her Neurologists, Dr. Gizell Rosetta Larsen and the caring, compassionate care from all the staff at St. Paul Home and Hospice in Kaukauna, WI.
