As soon as I heard about Lee Aaker's death, I sent this message to Italian television:

Dear Sirs,
I have just heard about the death of Lee Aaker, interpreter of Rusty in the Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, the black and white television series that gladdened my childhood and the one of many Italians of my generation.
I therefore ask you if you can kindly send it back on the air, to commemorate the actor who played Rusty and to the delight of current children, who, even in the black and white of the films, will be able to experience the sensations we experienced, children of the past.
I thank you very much for your attention and look forward to your kind reply.
With regard,
Paolo Ercolani
