Thornhill, Theodore Wells Ted Theodore Wells Ted Thornhill died on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013, at the age of 59, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 19th, 1954 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Ted is survived by his loving wife Liza Wilhelm Thornhill and his son Ty Thornhill (Alex), who gave him the greatest joy in life. Ted is also survived by his mother Jane Foristell Thornhill, sister Melissa Thornhill Knapp, nephews Rick Thornhill (Gillian), Tucker Thornhill, niece Hayley Mackernan and great-nephew Joseph Thornhill. Ted is preceded in death by his father S. Gene Thornhill and his brother Rick Thornhill. Ted attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in Saint Louis and Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. In 1976, he went to work for Lafayette Federal Savings, and then Vescovo Construction, learning the insand-outs of residential real estate. In 1977, Ted joined THORNHILL-ELSASSER, which later became Thornhill Co. Realtors, where he served as Vice President and as President. In 1987, Ted joined Janet McAfee Real Estate, serving as President from 2000 until 2013. Ted was dedicated to Janet McAfee up until the day he passed away and truly loved every moment he spent with the company, and every employee and agent that passed through the doors. He also served on the Board of Directors of MLS and the Board of St. Louis Association of Realtors, where he was honored as Manager of the Year in 1992. Ted loved golf, his two dogs, new cars, watches, hunting, and a screened-in porch on a nice evening. Ted loved real estate and he loved the Art of the Deal as he called it. It was his craft and what he dedicated his life to, helping so many families along the way. Above all else, Ted loved his family and friends. Ted never knew a stranger and always had a funny story to share with anyone and everyone he met. He loved life and laughter to their fullest. In short, Ted was the life of the party and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Was talking with Tim the other day and we both lamented that the part you played in our lives remains a void that only a Ted could fill. I am sure that whatever existence you graduated to is one where you welcome wit and sage advise continue to be the strength and comfort to the spirits that you are with.

Despite the time that has transpired since Ted's passing, my memories of him are as strong as ever. I still recall so many things about Ted's character and was even recounting those things about him within the past week. I still miss you very much my friend. Wish you were here to discuss the "new" Wellbridge and hear your digs about whatever car I might be driving. You are not forgotten.

Ted was a wonderful, bright & loving man. He had an infectious laugh, and always had a funny story to share. Ted adored Liza and she adored him. Liza was with Ted every minute during his fight with cancer. Liza was at Siteman 2-3 times a day, often until late at night, by his side, encouraging him and keeping him company. Ted was so blessed to have such a courageous wife and loving caregiver, Liza, with him every second. I love Ted for many reasons, but mostly for loving my best friend so much & showing her what true love is all about. Ted will not be forgotten.

Ted, you had a true gift. That gift was to make all of us who knew you happier than we would have otherwise been. Whether it was telling stories of your life, or teasing us about ours. You were like the brother I never had and do not want to lose. I will never forget you. Thanks Ted for being you.

Hey TT, we never finished that last round of golf or the one before that and the one before that! The 19th hole kept us off the course, we really didn't care did we? Just one more clear one and we'll go back out and finish. Still holding you to that, hold that tee time we will see each other another day! Rest in Peace my friend!:)

We are truly dismayed by Ted's death. Ted was more than just a friend; he was an amazing person. He was always so kind, funny, warm and considerate to Meredith and me, we always looked forward to seeing him at every opportunity.
His passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Ted's memory will always remain deep within our hearts.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.
With deepest sympathy,
