Mary King Swayzee

Swayzee, Mary King age 84, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Mari de Villa Retirement Community in Town & Country, Missouri. Raised in Webster Groves, MO, she attended Mary Institute and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. She graduated from Barnard College in New York City. She was an art critic at the Post-Dispatch 1963-1983, an artist, a volunteer tutor, and a docent at the St. Louis Art Museum. She is survived by her brother Philo Rockwell King (Patricia) of Worcester, MA, by a niece Cathryn Foote Fish of Atlanta, GA, by a nephew, Douglass Foote, Jr. (Lisa) of Nashville, TN, by five great-nephews and by four step-daughters. Services: A memorial service will be held on December 21, 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 N. Euclid, St. Louis, MO 63108. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Louis Art Museum Docent Program, 1 Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110-1308, or to Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 N. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108
