Robert Sherrill Cooper

Cooper, Robert Sherrill of St. Louis, MO passed away on September 29, 2013 on the McGraw Hospice at the Mayo Campus in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Cooper was born in Mellott, IN on September 11, 1925, and he was raised in Crawfordsville, IN. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1943 and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Wabash College in 1946. He received his Masters Degree in Chemistry in 1948 from Ohio State University. He served in the consumer products division of several leading chemical industries and had numerous patents to his credit. His avocations were tennis and competitive bridge. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and seven children Robert (Linda), Laura Sonby (Ron), Joseph (Maria), Mark, Mary Elizabeth, John and Tim - all children of Mary Foley Cooper of Arlington Heights, IL. In addition to his wife, Marilyn, and children, Robert is survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services: A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Pillar, 401 S. Lindbergh, on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers gifts may be given to Places for People, 4130 Lindell St. Louis MO 63108.
