Donald Wohltman Obituary

Wohltman, Donald S. 1-30-29 to 7-28-18. It disappointments me to announce this, but if you're reading this, I have passed on at the still youthful age of 89. Since serving in the military during the Korean War, that experience instilled in me a lifelong loathing for ever having to wait in line for anything. I am pleased to announce I was first in line at The Pearly Gates when God called me home early Sat. morning, July 28th. A native of St. Louis, I attended Country Day School and Yale University, where I made many friends and enjoyed many sports and extracurricular activities. One of my proudest accomplishments was serving out great country during the Korean War. I've probably talked about my military experiences ad nauseam, but they were very important to me as we are very fortunate to live in our great country - God Bless America! I've enjoyed sports (college football is my all-time favorite), marching bands, travel, reading, turtles, birds and a number of furry family members (Molly, Max, Jazzy, Cooper, LuLu). Friendships are also of great importance to me, and I'm looking forward to catching up with old ones in the next few weeks. The most treasured accomplishments of mine include my beloved wife of 51 years Judith Ann (Johnson); beloved children Christy Goessling-Boyd (Greg Boyd), Missy Madden (Gene), and Stephen Wohltman; amazing grandsons - Paul Henry Goessling, Parker Goessling & Peyton Boyd; family and younger friends I've made along my wonderful journey called life. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Shriner's Hospital St. Louis or a charity of your choice. Services: Family, friends, and others whose lives I touched are invited to a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 25th, at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 W Lockwood Ave., with Reverend Ed Zumwinkel officiating.

Christy, we are so sorry for the sudden loss of your Father. You were such a wonderful daughter to him and it's good to know he is at peace now. Cherish his memory and know that you, your Mom and family are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless! Doreen, Sam and family

Don was a kind man. I'll miss him, his sense of humor and his deep voice (Perfect for radio...I always thought). My condolences to his wonderful family.

I still remember the dinner I had with you, your beautiful wife, and Ralph and Betsy Gildehaus. Rest in peace with your brother, Randy, and parents.
