Sealy, Dorothy Lou Hedrick
Dorothy Lou Hedrick Sealy originally from Union, West Virginia died peacefully on the morning of August 23rd. Affectionately known as Dottie, she will be remembered as a real pistol for her fierce intelligence, deep faith, and masterful bridge game. Dottie was born to Samuel Whitmore Hedrick and Thelma Susan Tomlinson Hedrick on February 23, 1936. Her wits and intelligence were evident earlyfrom her graduation from West Virginia University (Manga Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) with dual degrees in History and Biology to her first job with the National Security Agency (NSA) in Washington, D.C. When she relocated to Saint Louis with her young family in 1972 she eventually joined Armstrong Teasdale LLP and rose to become their technology administrator. In retirement she spent her time on her passions: the St. Louis Cardinals as well as her Life Master Status in the American Contract Bridge League. She played bridge every chance she got. She also celebrated her 50-plus years as an Alpha Phi (initiated in 1954) and enjoyed sharing her Alpha Phi membership with her granddaughter, Hannah. Her faith was deeply rooted and regularly celebrated with her 30-plus years as a member of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church. Dottie leaves behind two children, their spouses, and two grandchildren: Susan Sealy Moore and Richard William Moore, and their children Aryn Gabrielle Moore and Hannah Kathryn Moore as well as Christopher Allen Sealy and Rachel Parker Sealy. We invite those who want to celebrate her life to join us for a Memorial Service. The visitation (10 AM) and Memorial Service (11 AM) will be held at Chesterfield Presbyterian Church (15037 Clayton Rd, Chesterfield, MO) on Friday, September 1st. CHESTERFIELD PREBYTERIAN CHURCH
