Jeanne was a great friend to us and loving surrogate grandmother to our boys. We were privileged to spend her last several Christmases together. She was a true firebrand and a true believer, especially in others. But she was also a no-nonsense Minnesota prairie woman who spoke the truth to power... whoever that might be. We will miss you dearly, Jeanne

Sister Jeanne was a true treasure to midwives. In 1998, she blessed my hands as I became a nurse midwife. I have always felt that emotional ceremony gave me strength, imparted knowledge, wisdom and empowered me to care for women. She impacted my life. God bless you, Sister Jeanne.

Sr. Jeanne was the glue that held a community together. I remember her on the 3800 block of Russell as the hip happenin' partyin' nun that had enough love to bring us all closer together. She was a great neighbor and a dear friend. I remember her help with our progressive dinner and block parties. She counted my contractions when I was getting ready to birth our son. She babysat and dogsat and came over to visit. We will truly miss her. Love her always. Rest in peace Jeanne.

I taught classes at Women's Place in Maplewood for many years--during that time I had two babies. Sister Jeanne was such a blessing in my life. She was joyful, curious, and always made sure that my life was balanced and that I was taking care of myself in addition to doing the hard domestic violence work we were engaged in. She took care of my needs when I was pregnant and made me feel so loved and cared for. The women who dropped in to Women's Place were nourished by her loving care and the safety that exuded from her loving embrace was irreplaceable. I didn't realize just how much her passing would affect me--she was a lovely soul who sent so much love, peace and joy into the world.

Little did I know that first Sunday I shared a pew with Sister Jeanne would become such a treasured time. Each Sunday I would be greeted with a smile; followed with a wink. Sharing many a range of topics...She taught me much about her , myself and life. Slowly walking with her to communion I thought I was helping her keep her balance but it was she who helped me to keep my balance.... Bless you Sister Jeanne .

She was the most wonderful mentor I could have asked. She was also like my second mother. Many holidays were shared with her and my family. I hope I can be notified of her memoial

I admired this wonderful, strong, compassionate woman. She made her mark on this world and her neighbors who all lived her. She had a kind word for all, good advice, and a great sense of humor.
