Kunz, Paul Oscar 1924-2015, asleep in Jesus January 12, 2015. Beloved husband of 56 years to Jacquelyn (nee Wangerin); devoted father of Susan (Carl) Moritz and David (Jeannette) Kunz; fun and loving grandpa to Eric, Paul and Andrew Moritz; dear brother of Lois (Dick) Horstmann, Ralph (Audrey) Kunz, Ruth (Dick deceased) Detmer, godfather, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. A native St. Louisan, Paul attended Holy Cross Lutheran Grade School and Roosevelt High School and graduated from Washington University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Paul spent his entire post-graduate career at Laclede Gas Company, retiring as manager in sales engineering at age 70. Passionate in serving his Lord and Savior, Paul was a committed leader in Concordia Lutheran Church missions (CIM), the Lutheran Camp Association (LCA) and Lutheran Family and Children's Services. Additionally, Paul was an active member and leader in numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He served as president of ASHRAE, St. Louis area chapter, in 1990-91 and received ASHRAE's Hermann F. Spoehrer Memorial Award for outstanding service to ASHRAE and the community. He was a former president of the Construction Products Council, served on the Mayor's Energy Task Force for the city of St. Louis and served on the Governor's Conservation Committee for the state of Missouri. Services: Visitation at Bopp Chapel on Friday, January 16 from 4-7 p.m. 10610 Manchester Rd. St. Louis, MO 63122.
